Second Coming Jesus comes in a cloud, according to Jesus’ own testimony. But what does that mean, exactly? Will Jesus come on a literal cloud, floating down from Heaven? Or is the cloud a metaphor? Without knowing the answer, it will be impossible to find the Second Coming Christ.

Second Coming Jesus Comes in a Cloud

Jesus told His disciples that when He comes a second time, He will come on (Matt. 24:30) or in a cloud.

Luke 21:27-28 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Many Christians think this is a literal cloud and that the Second Coming takes place at the same time as the Last Judgment. However, these are two separate events. In the verse above, the redemption day is merely drawing near when Jesus comes in a cloud. If the Second Coming was supposed to happen at the same time as the Last Judgment, the Bible would say that when Jesus comes in a cloud, redemption is here. If the Second Coming and Last Judgment are two separate events, what does it mean that Second Coming Jesus comes in a cloud?

Jesus Came in a Cloud at His First Coming

Daniel prophesied about the Son of Man (Jesus) coming with the clouds of Heaven.

Daniel 7:13-14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power (a kingdom — KJV); all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

While many may assume that this is a prophecy about Jesus’ second coming, because the clouds are mentioned, and Jesus did not come to earth on a literal cloud 2,000 years ago, it is actually about His first coming. Jesus Himself testified that He fulfilled this prophecy because He received authority, glory and a kingdom, which were prophesied to be given to the Son of Man who comes in the clouds.

Authority

Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…”

Glory

John 17:10 Jesus said…. “All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.”

Sovereign Power (Kingdom)

Luke 22:29 Jesus said…. “And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me …”

Since Jesus received authority, glory and a kingdom at His first coming, He is the one who fulfilled the prophecy in Daniel 7. That means Jesus came to the earth in the clouds at His first coming. Since Jesus did not come on literal clouds, but was born as a human being through Mary, the clouds must be a metaphor for the flesh. Coming in a cloud means being born as a human being with flesh and blood on this earth.

To make it easy to understand, the Bible describes Jesus’ first and second coming in the same way. Just as Jesus came in a cloud at his first coming, being born on this earth. Second Coming Jesus comes in a cloud, being born as a human being before the Last Judgment.

Clouds Represent Human Beings

Not only in prophecies about Christ, but also elsewhere in the Bible, clouds are used as a metaphor for human beings.

Jude 1:12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm — shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted — twice dead.

Psalms 25:14 Like clouds and wind without rain is one who boasts of gifts never given.

In the book of Jude, false prophets are described as shepherds who feed only themselves or clouds without rain. The rain represents the words of God, which the false prophets do not have, while the clouds represent the people who are false prophets. Hence, they are clouds without rain — people without the words of God. In the book of Proverbs, a person who boasts of gifts never given is also compared to a cloud without rain. The cloud represents the person, while the rain represents the gifts. In both these cases, the Bible calls human beings clouds. According to this common Biblical expression, Jesus coming in a cloud means that He will be born again in the flesh.

Why Does Second Coming Jesus Come in a Cloud?

The Bible testifies that Jesus must come a second time to restore the new covenant that He established 2,000 years ago because it was all abolished after the disciples passed away. Among tens of thousands of Christian dominations, who is keeping the Passover Jesus said He eagerly desired to keep (Luke 22:15)? Who is worshipping on the Sabbath day, according to Jesus’ custom (Luke 4:16)? Rather than following the examples of Christ, churches celebrate Sunday worship and other customs taken from pagan sun god worship that cannot be found in the Bible.

Because of this, Jesus testified that He would not find faith on the earth when He returns a second time. And this is the reason He must come a second time, in a cloud, to preach the same gospel He preached 2,000 years ago.

Luke 18:8 And the Lord said…. “I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Jesus used a rhetorical question to emphasize that He would not find faith worthy of receiving salvation when He comes in the flesh a second time. If Jesus judged the world in this situation, no one would be saved. So Jesus promised to return a second time to preach the gospel and gather His people (sheep) in the true church before the Last Judgment.

John 10:16 Jesus said…. “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”

The sheep of this sheep pen are the saints who were saved at Jesus’ first coming. The sheep not of this sheep pen are the sheep who are saved at His second coming. Jesus, Himself, promised to return a second time to restore the new covenant and guide His children to the true church.

It is Christ Ahnsahnghong who has fulfilled all the prophecies of Jesus’ Second Coming, restoring the new covenant Passover, Sabbath say and all the feasts of God and gathering His children in the World Mission Society Church of God. He came with a new name, just like Jesus came with a new name, though he was, in nature, God the Father Jehovah.
